HC Deb 24 May 1937 vol 324 c18
30. Sir P. Harris (for Mr. White)

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is now in a position to state the intentions of His Majesty's Government with regard to the recommendations of the Unemployment Insurance Statutory Committee that the salary limit for unemployment insurance for non-manual workers should be raised from £250 to £400 per annum?

Lieut.-Colonel Muirhead

No, Sir. A decision on this matter has not yet been reached.

Miss Rathbone

Can the hon. and gallant Gentleman give any idea when a decision will be reached in view of the fact that it is now something like 18 months since the Statutory Committee reported?

Lieut.-Colonel Muirhead

No, I should not like to give an undertaking.
