HC Deb 23 March 1937 vol 321 c2728
21. Mr. Hannah

asked the Secretary of State for War what steps are taken to notify employers of labour of the training given to soldiers about to leave the service?

Mr. Cooper

The Army vocational training centres are in touch with employers through an employment bureau maintained at each centre and through Employment Exchanges, the National Association for Employment of Regular Sailors, Soldiers and Airmen and Regimental Associations.

Mr. Hannah

Will the Minister inform the Chamber of Commerce in Wolverhampton, because I was informed recently by individuals there that they were very much interested to know about this?

Mr. Cooper

I shall be glad to take steps to do so. I should have read another paragraph of the answer to my hon. Friend. It is: Other means are adopted, as opportunities occur, to bring to the notice of employers generally the claims of ex-soldiers who have received vocational training.

Mr. Hannah

Thank you very much.
