HC Deb 23 March 1937 vol 321 c2734
32. Mr. Mathers

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is now in a position to give any indication of the Government policy as the result of his active consideration of the plight of Scottish poultry farmers?

Mr. Elliot

No, Sir; but as the hon. Member is aware the position of the industry as a whole is under continual review by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture and myself. I have taken recent opportunities of discussing their particular problems with the bodies representing poultry farmers in Scotland.

Mr. Mathers

If I were to repeat this question after Easter, does the right hon. Gentleman think the Government might have something hatched out by then?

Mr. H. G. Williams

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether the Government are going to take the first step of denouncing the trade agreements?
