HC Deb 23 March 1937 vol 321 c2753
66. Mr. Turton

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether in order to increase the productivity of agricultural land, he will re-introduce the grants for land drainage and moor gripping discontinued in the financial crisis of 1931?

Commander Southby (Lord of the Treasury)

I have been asked to reply. My right hon. Friend has noted my hon. Friend's suggestion.

Mr. Turton

Will my hon. and gallant Friend convey to the Minister the fact that this weather is making lack of drainage very apparent?
