HC Deb 08 March 1937 vol 321 c803
68. Mr. Viant

asked the Minister of Transport whether he has considered the communication from the Willesden Chamber of Commerce urging the appointment of a committee for the purpose of the collection of evidence from all interested parties on the workings of the Road and Rail Traffic Act, 1933, with a view to considering as to whether or not amending legislation is desirable; and is he prepared to adopt the suggestion?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

Yes, Sir, and the Transport Advisory Council was set up by the same Act for this purpose.

Mr. Viant

Will the Minister give a reply to the last part of my question?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

I have done so. I said that the Transport Advisory Council was set up for this purpose.

Mr. Viant

Do I understand that this case will be referred to that body?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

Yes, Sir.
