HC Deb 08 March 1937 vol 321 c799
62. Mr. Logan

asked the Home Secretary why copies of the report of the Inter-Departmental Committee on Riots, 1893, are now being circulated to justices of the peace; to how many justices of the peace this report has recently been sent; and in what districts?

Mr. Lloyd

I understand that the Court of Quarter Sessions for the County of London recently resolved that copies of the report of the Inter-Departmental Committee on Riots of 1894, be sent to each justice of the county, in order that the justices should be aware of the duties which may fall on them in the event of riots taking place. I am not aware whether similar action has been taken in other districts.
