HC Deb 08 March 1937 vol 321 c804
29. Marquess of Clydesdale

asked the Minister of Pensions whether he will inquire into the case of Mr. Malcolm Campbell, of Applecross, who has undergone 19 major operations for wounds he received during the great War and has had his pension taken away because he refused to undergo a twentieth operation?

The Minister of Pensions (Mr. Ramsbotham)

From the information given, I have not been able to identify the case, but if my Noble Friend will furnish me with further details I will certainly inquire into the matter.

Marquess of Clydesdale

Does the Minister realise that the statement contained in my question has received publicity in the responsible Scottish Press, and that some indignation has been caused?

Mr. Ramsbotham

I have not had sufficient information to enable me to identify the case, but if my Noble Friend can give me any information, I will certainly look into it.
