HC Deb 08 March 1937 vol 321 c794
43. Mr. Lunn

asked the Minister of Labour whether the committee has yet been set up to consider under what conditions holidays with pay can be granted to all workers in the country; and what is the constitution of the committee and its terms of reference?

Lieut.-Colonel Muirhead

I would refer the hon. Member to the replies given to the hon. Member for Attercliffe (Mr. Wilson) and Hallam (Mr. L. Smith) on 4th and 5th March, respectively, of which I am sending him copies.

Mr. Lunn

Will this committee, when it is set up, be asked to report before the end of this Session?

Lieut.-Colonel Muirhead

I could not give any date by which it will be asked to report, but we certainly hope that it will conduct its investigations quickly.

Sir J. Haslam

Will my hon. and gallant Friend take care that the greatest exporting trade of this country, the cotton trade, is represented on this committee and allowed to give evidence?
