13. Mr. A. Jenkins

asked the Secretary for Mines the number of horses, ponies, and other animals used for haulage purposes in the mines of Great Britain; the number in each district; the number of horse inspectors in the service of the Mines Department; and the number of prosecutions, if any, for cruelties and other infringements of the law for each year since 1926?

There are at present eight horse inspectors in the service of the Mines Department. As the reply to the remainder of the question involves a number of figures, I will, with the hon. Member's permission, circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
