asked the Minister of Agriculture whether it is intended to include bere in the oats and barley scheme in view of the importance of this crop to farmers in Orkney and elsewhere; and, if so, whether it will be treated in the same way as barley?

Yes, Sir. It is the intention of the Government that the scheme should make the same provision for bere as for barley.
