asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what amount of pension per week is payable to the widow of a lower-deck man if he is killed on active service, as in the recent accident to His Majesty's Ship "Hunter," and if he is killed in the execution of his duty in normal corcumstances?

Mr. Cooper

The amount of pension payable to the widow would be the same in either of the instances mentioned by the hon. Member, and would vary between 10s. 6d. a week and 26s. a week, according to the age and circumstances of the widow and the rating or rank of the man. In addition, 5s. a week would be payable in respect of each child under the age of 16.
