§ 19. Sir M. Sueterasked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether, in computing the long overdue marriage allowance for naval officers, he can give an assurance that the basic pay of lieutenant-commanders will not be unduly cut by reason of the so-called phantom allowances that, according to some theories, compose part of naval pay; and whether he will see that the elements composing the official computations of naval pay are as real as in the case of the emoluments of Army and Air Force officers?
Mr. CooperMy hon. and gallant Friend can rest assured that the points referred to in the question and all other relevant considerations will be borne in mind.
