asked the Minister of Labour the number and location of the non-residential training centres established in the Special Areas?

The non-residential training centres at present in operation in the Special Areas are the Wallsend Government training centre at the Stadium, Wallsend-on-Tyne; the Pentrebach preparatory training centre at Merythr Tydfil; and the Rheola local instructional centre at Resolven, Glamorgan. A local training centre will very shortly be opened at Spennymoor, County Durham, and another at Oakdale, Monmouthshire, and three more will be opened later, two on Tyneside and one in South Wales.
