HC Deb 08 June 1937 vol 324 c1594
Mr. Attlee

(by Private Notice) asked the Prime Minister whether a statement will be made to the House on the proceedings of the Imperial Conference before any final decisions are reached?

The Prime Minister

The discussions at the Imperial Conference are confidential, but, in accordance with the customary practice, a report of the proceedings will be published, under the authority of the conference, as soon as it has been adopted. The speeches made at the opening meeting have already been published, and it may also be that the publication of one or two reports of committees will be authorised by the conference, in advance of its general report, in order to meet general convenience. Beyond this it is not possible at present to make any statement as to the course of proceedings at the conference, which has not yet completed its discussions.
