HC Deb 29 July 1937 vol 326 c3312
79. Mr. Kennedy

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he has considered a resolution submitted by the Old Age Pensioners' League, calling attention to the hardship endured by pensioners on account of the increased cost of living; and whether any action is to be taken by the Government in the direction of increased pensions?

Lieut.-Colonel Colville

I would refer the right hon. Gentleman to my speech on the Motion for the Adjournment on the 6th of this month.

Mr. Gallacher

Is not the Minister aware of the very deep feeling that exists throughout the country on this question? Does he not recognise that it is an outrage that some consideration is not given to old age pensioners, and will he not recommend the Government to do something in the matter?
