HC Deb 29 July 1937 vol 326 c3288
24. Mr. Kelly

asked the Home Secretary whether he has taken any steps to deal with the circulation of obscene films in this country?

Sir S. Hoare

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which was given to him by the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State on Monday last.

Mr. Kelly

In view of the number in circulation at the moment, will some steps be taken to prevent any further circulation?

Sir S. Hoare

I have nothing to add to what my hon. Friend said the other day. I am informed by the Commissioner of Police that he has no knowledge of any such circulation. If the hon. Member will forward me any information I will cause inquiry to be made.
