HC Deb 27 July 1937 vol 326 c2865
82. Mr. T. Smith

asked the Minister of Health whether the committee of inquiry into the question of nutrition have had under consideration the scales of unemployment assistance; and, if so, whether they are considered adequate, especially in view of the increase in the cost of foodstuffs?

Mr. Bernays

The Advisory Committee on Nutrition is dealing with the general question of the diet of the people and dietary surveys are at present being undertaken in certain areas which deal with working-class families and which may include persons in receipt of public assistance.
