HC Deb 27 July 1937 vol 326 cc2864-5
83. Mr. Kirby

asked the Minister of Health the number of houses inspected in the city of Liverpool during the past 12 months; and how many were found to fall short of reasonable modern standards?

Mr. Bernays

The answer to the first part of the question is 74,631: in answer to the second part, 3,380 of these houses were found to be unfit for human habitation and a further 29,800 not to be in all respects reasonably fit.

Mr. Kirby

Can the lion. Member say the number of families affected in the figure of 3,000 odd?

Mr. Bernays

I am afraid that I cannot do so without notice.
