asked the Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence the number of factories established in Lancashire in consequence of the rearmament policy, and the number of persons engaged therein?

Three new factories at present employing 719 persons have been established in Lancashire at Government expense in consequence of the rearmament programme. Two other factories are in course of establishment.

Immediately. They will be delivered at the rate of 500,000 a week, and there should be about 3,000,000 there at the end of August.
