HC Deb 27 July 1937 vol 326 cc2860-1
73. Mr. Kirby

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has yet established in Liverpool any gas-mask stores; and, if so, what number of masks have so far been stored therein?

The Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department (Mr. Geoffrey Lloyd)

A large regional supply depot for respirators has been established in Liverpool; it came into occupation on the 19th of this month and is now ready for the reception of the respirators.

Mr. Kirby

Am I to understand that there are no respirators there now?

Mr. Lloyd

That is correct.

Colonel Sandeman Allen

Can the Under-Secretary say how soon respirators will be available in considerable numbers?
