HC Deb 21 July 1937 vol 326 cc2189-90
28. Mr. R. Gibson

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what is the nature of the central organisation he has in view in regard to deductions for hospital purposes from the wages of unestablished workers of the Royal Naval Torpedo Factory in Greenock; and whether he will take steps to ensure that such deductions will be earmarked for hospital purposes from which such workers will benefit, particularly in and around Greenock?

Mr. Cooper

I regret that I am unable to add anything to the reply which I gave to the hon. Member on Monday, concerning the general scheme of deductions for hospital purposes which is at present under consideration. The desirability of ensuring that deductions from the pay of employés at the Royal Naval Torpedo Factory are earmarked for hospitals which are of benefit to the staff of the factory, will be borne in mind.

Mr. George Griffiths

Does not the right hon. Gentleman know that this hospital is losing pounds and pounds every week that it requires this delay?
