asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any information about the present conditions of children remaining in Bilbao; and whether he is satisfied that the conditions are now sufficiently stabilised in that city to enable the Basque children in this country to return.

Mr. Eden

His Majesty's Government are in touch with the National Joint Committee for Spanish refugees, to whom such information as may be received from time to time regarding present conditions at Bilbao will be communicated, and whom His Majesty's Government propose to invite to discuss the position at an early date.

Commander Bower

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that some of the younger of these unfortunate children are already beginning to forget their own parents; and, further, does he think that the political prejudices of the members of the committee to which he refers—[Interruption].
