asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has yet received from His Majesty's Ambassador in China the expected report on the recent case in which a British subject, as a result of successive proceedings in the Chinese courts, suffered a loss of $30,000 on the capital sum of $75,000 advanced on mortgage to a Chinese merchant?
