HC Deb 21 July 1937 vol 326 cc2180-1
6. Mr. Day

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can make a statement on the present situation and/or the recent changes that have taken place in China; and what is the present position in relation to extra-territoriality rights to His Majesty's Government and the Chinese Government?

Mr. Eden

I would refer the hon. Member to the statement which I made in the Debate in this House on Monday last and to the reply which I gave to the right hon. Gentleman the Leader of the Opposition yesterday. The position with regard to extra-territoriality remains unchanged.

Mr. Day

Do the Government propose to continue the negotiations with regard to extraterritoriality?

Mr. Eden

There are none now proceeding.
