I desire to ask you, Mr. Speaker, whether you would consider a request that has come from all quarters of the House, that some reference should be made in this House on the death of one of its Members?

I have made some inquiries into the question which the hon. Lady puts to me, and, if I can be assured that I have the support of the whole House, I shall be glad to give the question my consideration with a view to arriving at the best way of carrying out the wishes of the House.

May I further ask you, Sir, as I am sure it is the general wish of the House, whether you would consider making the appropriate statement yourself?

Of course, I will consider that. I am anxious to do what the House wishes. I will take it into consideration and see how it could be done.
