Captain HudsonIn addition to the works (totalling some £400,000) to which approval had been given before 1st April, 1937, my right hon. Friend hopes to put in hand during the current financial year a number of other improvement works to a value of approximately £270,000 so soon as the necessary agency agreements have been concluded with the councils concerned. I will endeavour to send the hon. Member such details of individual roads as are available.

Captain HudsonIt is only since 1st April that my Department have taken over the trunk roads. I should like to give a more detailed statement, and perhaps I shall be able to do so before very long.
