HC Deb 12 July 1937 vol 326 cc870-1
28. Mr. Hepworth

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether any, or all, of the Dominions require that non-British manufactured goods imported into their territory must bear some designation of the country of origin?

Mr. R. S. Hudson

In Canada, the Commonwealth of Australia, and the Irish Free State, certain classes of goods, irrespective of whether they are British or foreign, are required to be marked with an indication of the country of origin. No such requirement exists in New Zealand or the Union of South Africa.
