HC Deb 07 July 1937 vol 326 cc338-9
41. Sir Gifford Fox

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will consider extending the practice of putting up notices showing the number of people killed and injured on the main roads of the country, as is now done on Eastern Avenue to Southend; and whether the effect of these notices has been to reduce the number of accidents?

Mr. Burgin

So far the information available does not permit of definite conclusions as to the general usefulness of notices of this nature, but I am watching this and other similar experiments with interest.
