HC Deb 25 January 1937 vol 319 c564
33. Mr. T. Johnston

asked the Postmaster-General whether, seeing that at Fankerton, a village 2½ miles from Denny, Stirlingshire, with a population of 200 inhabitants, there are no public telephonic facilities, the nearest telephone being 1½ miles away, he will consider the provision of a telephone kiosk at the village?

Major Tryon

The case falls within the tercentenary concession under which I am prepared to provide a kiosk if the local authority is willing to pay for five years a rental of £4 per annum.
