HC Deb 25 February 1937 vol 320 c2186
69. Captain Peter Macdonald

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in view of the fact that the increased price of wheat has resulted in the present wheat quota scheme requiring no levy, he will consider the desirability of making an early announcement that arrangements will be made further to increase the standard price payable for millable wheat produced in this country, so as to encourage the planting of an increased acreage?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

My hon. and gallant Friend is under a misapprehension in thinking that the price of wheat has risen sufficiently for the quota payments under the Wheat Act, 1932, to be suspended, and the second half of his question accordingly does not arise.
