HC Deb 25 February 1937 vol 320 cc2181-2
59. Mr. Pethick-Lawrence

asked the Minister of Health whether the committee which is investigating the problem of the anticipated decline in the population has had its attention directed to the restrictions which are imposed by certain companies on the marriage of junior members of their staffs?

Sir K. Wood

The effect upon the birth-rate of the postponement of marriages owing to economic and other conditions, including restrictions such as those mentioned, is well recognised, and will receive full attention in the Departmental investigation.
