asked the Secretary for Mines whether, when appointing an inquiry into any future explosion in the coal-mining industry, he will appoint as chairman a person not connected with either side in the industry or with the Mines Department?

This question arises out of the reports of inquiry into the Gresford Colliery disaster, and in view of the fact that, as announced yesterday, it has been decided to set aside a day for the House to discuss these reports, I hope to deal fully with this question in the course of the Debate.
