Mr. StanleyThe trade agreements to which my hon. Friend refers continue in force without renewal, subject to termination after four months' notice in the case of Denmark and six months' notice in the case of the others. No notice of termination has been given by either party to any of these agreements.
§ Mr. PilkingtonWill my right hon. Friend bear in mind that the present treaties severely handicap the timber trade in this country?
Mr. StanleyI have had a certain number of representations on that point, and I will bear it in mind.
§ Mr. PetherickIs my right hon. Friend aware that there is a very serious adverse balance of trade with some of those countries, and will be take steps to remedy that position?
