HC Deb 16 December 1937 vol 330 cc1330-1
73. Mr. Price

asked the Minister of Agriculture how many gallons of milk were dealt with by the Milk Marketing Board during the months of September, October and November of this year; and how many during the same months last year?

Mr. Ramsbotham

As the reply contains a number of figures, I will, with the hon. Member's permission, circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Following is the reply:

QUANTITY OF MILK dealt with under the Milk Marketing Scheme during the months September, October and November, 1937 and 1936.
September. October. November.
Gallons. Gallons. Gallons.
1937 69,724,618 69,645,249 63,402,355
1936 73,356,178 75,147,088 65,800,417

These figures relate to milk sold under wholesale contracts and manufactured into cheese on farms under farm cheesemakers' contracts. Sales of milk by producer-retailers are not included, as figures for 1937 are not available.
