HC Deb 08 April 1937 vol 322 c344
52. Mr. Morgan

asked the Lord President of the Council whether he can give assurance to the House that, in the event of any limitation being placed upon the exports of Empire sugar, the Empire will be allowed to obtain the full benefit of any expansion of consumption which may take place in Empire markets?

The Lord President of the Council (Mr. Ramsay MacDonald)

I cannot at present anticipate the conclusions of the International Sugar Conference, but the suggestion made by my hon. Friend is one which, among others, is being borne in mind.
