HC Deb 08 April 1937 vol 322 c322
2. Mr. Emery

asked the Minister of Labour whether he has considered the representations which have been made to him by the building trades employers for the introduction of a scheme to insure workers in the building trades against loss of employment owing to bad weather; and, if so, what action he proposes to take in the matter?

The Minister of Labour (Mr. Ernest Brown)

Representatives of the Joint Council for the Building Industry have been in touch with my Department on this subject. At their request some suggestions, which I hope will be of use to the Council in framing a scheme, have been supplied to them by the Department.
