HC Deb 29 October 1936 vol 316 c17
31. Mr. CHORLTON

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is yet in a position to state what action he proposes to take with regard to the most-favoured-nation clause, which is now a hindrance to export trade and a handicap to the realisation of our full advantage as a large market in bilateral treaties?

Captain EUAN WALLACE (Secretary, Department of Overseas Trade)

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer on this subject which my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade gave on 3rd March last to the hon. Member for Moseley (Sir P. Hannon), of which I am sending him a copy.
