HC Deb 29 October 1936 vol 316 c8
11. Mr. DAY

asked the Home Secretary when the last detailed review of the requirements of the police force of the Metropolitan Area was conducted; and what suggestions he is at present considering to further augment the police force to provide for the recently-developed districts?

Mr. LLOYD

The last detailed review of the requirements of the Police Force of the Metropolitan Area as a whole was completed in 1933. Since then the extended use of mechanical and other aids has progressively enhanced the effectiveness of the force and has enabled the needs of growing districts to be met by redistribution of the available resources. No augmentation is contemplated at present.
