HC Deb 29 October 1936 vol 316 cc18-9
33. Lieut.-Colonel SANDEMAN ALLEN

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will make representations to the London Passenger Transport Board urging that the lost property office, at present in Lambeth Road, be moved to 200, Baker Street, which, owing to proximity to omnibus routes and to a tube station, is more accessible to the public?

Mr. LLOYD

I have been asked to reply. I presume that my hon. Friend refers to the Lost Property Office at Lambeth, which deals with property lost and found in the streets and in taxi-cabs. This office is under the control of the Commissioner of Police, and it could not be joined up with the London Passenger Transport Office at Baker Street. It was moved to its present site 10 years ago, and since the opening of Lambeth Bridge two groups of omnibus services and one tram service pass the door, while numerous other services pass close by.
