§ 44. Mr. GRAHAM WHITEasked the Home Secretary the result of the inquiries made by the Director of Public Prosecutions into the case of Detective-sergeant Whitehurst, who at Bow Street, on 3rd January of this year, was found by the magistrate to have given false evidence?
§ Sir J. SIMONAs I informed the House on 31st March last, Detective-sergeant Whitehurst's case was dealt with by disciplinary action. That course was decided upon after the Director of Public Prosecutions had carefully considered the question of taking criminal proceedings.
§ Sir J. SIMONI would like to have that question put on the Paper. I think he was reduced to the rank of constable.
