71. Mr. DAVID ADAMSasked the Minister of Health the approximate number of dwelling-houses in England and Wales that were subject to the control of the Rent Restriction Acts on 30th September, 1936?
§ The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of HEALTH (Mr. R. S. Hudson)There are about 4,000,000 controlled "C" class houses. The number of controlled "B" class houses gradually diminishes by the operation of decontrol. It was estimated that in 1933 there were about 1,250,000 controlled "B" class houses, but my right hon. Friend has no information as to the number to-day.
§ Mr. BELLENGERIn referring to the number of "C" houses, did the hon. Member mean houses or hereditaments, or parts of houses?
§ Mr. HUDSONI would like to have notice of that question.
