HC Deb 11 November 1936 vol 317 c871
67. Captain PLUGGE

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Health, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether the refacing of the Palace of Westminster will be completed by the date of the Coronation, or whether it will be necessary to leave the scaffolding in place during that period?

Mr. HUDSON

My Noble Friend regrets that it will not be practicable entirely to remove the scaffolding by the date of the Coronation, but he will arrange to reduce as much as possible the height of that now in position in New Palace Yard.
