HC Deb 05 November 1936 vol 317 c230
40. Mr. ROSTRON DUCKWORTH

asked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the spread of measles, he can state what research work is now carried on to check the prevalence of this malady; and how the cases per 100,000 of the population in this country compare with the cases in other European countries?

Sir K. WOOD

As regards the first part of the question, this matter has been dealt with in recent annual reports of the chief medical officer of the Ministry, and I will send my hon. Friend references to the relevant passages. I regret that the information asked for in the second part of the question is not available as measles is not compulsorily notifiable in this country.
