HC Deb 20 May 1936 vol 312 cc1195-6
61. Mr. EDE

asked the Minister of Transport whether he has called for a report from his divisional engineer on proposals to cross the Tyne by a road nearer the mouth than is provided by existing road crossings; and, if so, when he expects to receive such report?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

Yes, Sir, and I expect to receive the report as soon as it is completed.

Mr. EDE

Has the right hon. Gentleman fixed any date by which he would like this report? I cannot imagine that it will be left in the office?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

I am more concerned with the thoroughness and value of the report than the date; but I hope it will be soon.
