§ Mr. ELLIOTThe question of revising the regulations for the Attested Herd Scheme is still under consideration in connection with other aspects of milk policy. I am not able to say when an announcement will be made.
§ Mr. ROBERTSIs this question also part of the right hon. Gentleman's long-term policy?
§ Mr. ELLIOTWe have repeatedly stated that the milk situation is being dealt with at present by a temporary Act, but will have to be dealt with by a permanent Act.
§ Mr. A. V. ALEXANDERIs it not time, seeing that the Milk and Dairies Act has been on the Statute Book for 21 years, to compel all milk producers to conform with the provisions of that Act?
§ Mr. ELLIOTI know the right hon. Gentleman's desire for compulsion in every form, but we think that persuasion is more effective.
