HC Deb 06 May 1936 vol 311 cc1688-9
24. Mr. GUY

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies by how much the total export trade of Tanganyika has increased since the British Government took over the administration

Mr. J. H. THOMAS

The last normal year before British administration was installed was 1913, when the domestic exports of German East Africa (including the part now under Belgian Mandate) were equivalent to approximately £1,750,000. The domestic exports of Tanganyika in 1935 were £3,445,000.
