HC Deb 16 March 1936 vol 310 c15
56. Mr. LIDDALL

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that the import into Greece of British Diesel oil engines is prohibited; and whether he will take the necessary steps to have this matter adjusted?

Captain WALLACE

The import of Diesel oil engines into Greece is not actually prohibited, but is allowed only under a system of special permits, the operation of which has resulted in severe restrictions on the import of such engines from the United Kingdom. Repeated representations have been made to the Greek Government on the subject and these representations will be continued.
