HC Deb 10 March 1936 vol 309 cc1942-3
15. Mr. T. SMITH

asked the Secretary for Mines whether any steps can be taken to provide that the additional prices now being paid for coal shall be paid into a special fund in order to ensure that all the proceeds will be earmarked for the benefit of the miners?

Captain CROOKSHANK

I would refer the hon. Member to the answers I gave to the hon. Member for Rother Valley (Mr. E. Dunn) on 4th February.

Mr. SMITH

Can the Secretary for Mines say whether, in the Quarterly Summary of Returns, the income from and cost of the recent increase are to be shown under separate headings?

Captain CROOKSHANK

No, Sir, not that I know.

Mr. GEORGE GRIFFITHS

Does the Secretary for Mines know that in Yorkshire in the last month they made a profit of £435,000, or £200,000 more than they made in the previous month?
