HC Deb 10 March 1936 vol 309 cc1946-7
22. Mr. TREE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether the necessary six months' notice to terminate the trade agreement with Argentina has been given, in view of the serious situation still existing in the livestock industry in this country?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

Notice of termination of the Anglo-Argentine Trade Agreement has not been given, but the question of the future of the agreement is receiving careful consideration.

Mr. H. G. WILLIAMS

Will notice be given before 17th May to ensure that the new scheme comes into operation at the earliest possible moment?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

There will be no undue delay.
