§ 30. Mr. TURTONasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware that the Yorkshire producers are greatly concerned at the proposal of the Bacon Marketing Board that in future pigs should be prevented from being offered in direct contract with individual curers, and that the adoption of this proposal will result in a loss in popularity of the pig marketing scheme; and whether he will take such steps as are available to him to secure that this link between factory and producer is not broken?
§ Mr. ELLIOTQuestions regarding the form of contract for the supply of bacon pigs are matters for decision by the Pigs and Bacon Marketing Boards, who are the elected representatives of the con- 1787 tracting parties. The proposal of the Bacon Marketing Board to which my hon. Friend refers is, I understand, under consideration by the Pigs Marketing Board, to whose notice the views of Yorkshire producers should be brought.
